Please Post With Both First And Last Names

Mum has SO many friends that there is some overlap with the names - even if it seems a bit formal to put both names, please do so we can tell her whose comments we are reading before she has to use clues from the comments to put things together!

Hi Marika, I hope you receive this message. I'm not familiar with sending message by blogs. I am sorry we never connected for our lunch or tea we always talked about. I have so many things I would love to share with you. Shelley W. has kept me informed as to how you and David have been so you were always in my heart. Love to you both Bev McIvor

Good Morning Marika,

You and David raised your children well!! Vickie and Mark are not only caring for you so very well (along with Gyongyi and David, of course!) but they are caring for us all with the beautiful and complete updates each day. This brings us all closer to you---to know your situation and to know that your humour sparkles as always! Today (Sat) might be a challenging day, but once they get you situated with a feeding system, you will feel stronger. We love you, Susan & John (Drysdale)

Dear Marika,

As usual I was walking on Mt. Doug this morning -- on the best days I get to see Mt. Baker, and today was one of those days -- and then I also saw a beautiful redtailed hawk soaring over the mountain. It reminded me of my lovely redhaired birder friend and I thought the dovetailing of the hawk and the perfect day was something I wanted to share with you. My thoughts and love are with you, Katrin Horowitz

Hello again from Janice in Nova Scotia. Today I went for a walk near a lake and heard many birds I couldn't identify chirping near by. I thought of you, Marika, and your bird spotting expertise. I did see a couple of blue jays a bird transplanted easterners miss. I hope your enforced fasting is soon at an end with something tasty and healthful for you that respects your poor sore throat. I agree that feeding the ill should be a prioity in the hospital but you are getting many wise suggestions from friends. My daughter always begged for a strawberry milkshake when she was having cancer treatments. Much love,
Janice xoxoxox

I am sending off photos of two of the wallhangings I have made. I go to workshops that usually last close to a year from start to the finished product. There are usually 8-10 of us in a class working on the same project in our own way. It is amazing how different they all turn out. I have started a redwork quilt for my bed and have got quite far behind because of my move. I will pick it up again when I return. I admire your amazing spirit and will stay in touch while I am away. Lots of love Margaret S

Darling Marika,

This is the 4th comment I have submitted. It appears simple, and I talked to Susan, but it just doesn'tget through. Talked to your lovely David and at least I know he'll tell you of my love and throughts. Rather than another long comment, I'll try this short one. Thinking of you and praying, praying.

Hey, Marika,
4th time lucky. What a wonderful blog Mark & Vicky have set up; it is so comforting to read--the wit & humour of the updates (clearly your children), and the wonder of many, many friends you have made in so many different places.
Maine continues beautiful. Less Montreal visitors this year; but enjoyeda recent visit from myfavourite nephew & his large family. Look forward to returning to Montreal next Saturday, to the new medium of acrylics with Audrey, to the McGill study groups, to theatre with Barbara, opera with Mary, ballet with Elizabeth and soo, I hope jokes and other mailings from my beloved Marika. And to acountry where election campaigns may be dull but at least are civilised and decent. All my love, Katherine

Hi Marika and David, I tried to put a message on before the wekend but it doesn't seem to have gone through. I am sorry, I did not know you were in hospital till Susan (in UK) told me. I hope you are as comfortable as possible. I am thinking of you.

Love Barbi
