Wednesday Wake-up

Mum made an early-morning phone call with some requests, so she's back in action! She was sounding chipper and with-it, so clearly the rest was something she needed. We are going to encourage her to continue to take the time she needs so that she can have the quality of awareness and energy she seems to be enjoying so far today. She was so enthusiastic to hear that I would be there in a few hours and I'm looking forward to seeing her.

More later.

Hello My Dear Friend,

It is good to know that you are gaining strength. Sleep is very important to store ones energy.

The art work in your room is very lovely and the arrangements are well planned.

The messages from Mark are welcoming. He is doing a good job.
Thank him from Matthew and me.

Talk to you later.

Love you,
Carol Sigurdson and Mahhew Swan

Dear Marika,

I don't think my post to the blog went through last night so I'm trying this morning.

So sorry to hear that the cancer has returned. Glad you're able to eat something again and hopefully, you'll be having a few scotches soon.

I've just put a letter in the mail to your home address. Wanted among other things, to send a photo of a toucan we saw in Costa Rica this past summer. Your integration of academic and artistic interests is so inspiring.

with lots of love, Fiona and Paul

Hi Marika,
Mark's blog tells us that you are feeling stronger today. That's great. You mustn't let your guests overtire you--& that includes me! I will be there on Friday & can't wait to give you a hug--if that's allowed.
Today I heard that my book will be in the bookshops on Oct 6. It doesn't seem real after all this time!
Love, love, Barbara.

Hi Marika
The most recent posting is indeed good news. Having your own paintings in the room is a great idea. They are some of my favorites, too. Rest is good, eating is good, visiting is good - all things in moderation and in balance. I spent the day planting the new garden with mom - she was a big help - I would still be out there if not for her. Put out beer for slug bait - They do love the beer but it does not love them - lol. With all the rain we have had the slugs are abundant this year - don't remember it being like this before - at least they are not the huge ones that the coast gets. The reno is moving forward - And of course now that he needs the time, Al is busy with home inspection jobs - Murphy's Law. It will get finished. Wishing you peace and the energy to walk towards health.
Love Lynn (Box) xo

Ps Big thanks to Mark for setting up this blog and for posting your room pictures and for being the obviously wonderful man that he is.

pss Hi to David - Hang in there!!

Dear Marika & David,
Good to read that you are feeling much better and managing to eat more.
A lot of your friends mention the scotch, have you had one yet?
We are sure it will put a twinkle in your eye, it did our good doctor friend from Edinburgh.
Thinking of you lots and hope our good wish vibes are coming through all the way from OZ.
Love Hilary & Jack
